Tiny Tree is thrilled to announce the acquisition of a ‘throwback’ picture book from debut author Emily Wensley. ‘The Giant at Number Two’ was written by Wensley and illustrated by Helen Morgan. The title was acquired by James Shaw, publisher at Tiny Tree following a round of open submissions. The book will publish in May 2024.
“Having ‘The Giant at Number Two’ published by Tiny Tree is an absolute dream come true,” says author Emily Wensley. “ I always knew in my heart that this was a story worth sharing, I’m just so grateful to Tiny Tree for making it possible.”
‘The Giant at Number Two’ is a rhyming picture book with a classic look and feel. Wensley’s whimsical story, wherein a young girl investigates the appearance of a giant alongside her mischievous grandmother, is matched perfectly with retro-styled watercolour artwork from Morgan.

Daisy-May is known to everyone as having a vivid imagination, so when she tells her family that there is a giant living on their street, as usual nobody believes her.Nobody that is, except her Gran!
Excited that there may be a giant living in the neighbourhood (especially one that wears funny masks!) they form a plan to find out all they can about him, in order to lure him into a trap.

Inspired by classic fairytales and vintage mysteries, ‘The Giant at Number Two’ blends traditional storytelling with a self-refferential twist that children and parents will love equally. “I hope that readers (young and old) will connect with the book’s lovable characters and enjoy its unexpected twist of events!” says the author.
“The moment I saw this book I fell in love. It reminds me so much of my favourite books from my childhood,” says Tiny Tree publisher James Shaw. “It has such a nostalgic feel without looking out of date. It’s funny, engaging and I am very happy that we get to add it to our Tiny Tree family”

‘The Giant at Number Two’ is slated for release in May 2024. The publication date and more details will be confirmed at a later date.
