About The Author
Sharon grew up in rural Taranaki, New Zealand where her best friends were books; mystery and adventure books, animal stories and tales of bravery and friendship. When she left home she made her own adventures, travelling and doing many different jobs; working on oil rigs, watching the magnificent Sydney Opera House being built from her office window, milking cows and making hay on farms around southern England and many more besides, before settling in Wales and pursuing a career in IT.
It wasn’t until her first grandson was born that she started to write stories for him. She lives in the Welsh countryside with her husband and rescue lurchers and takes her inspiration from the creatures she sees in her garden. Preston is based on a real rat that lives comfortably on her raised garden, helping himself to the bird seed and washing daily in the bird bath.
About The Illustrator
Ed started drawing at an early age and hasn’t really stopped since. He grew up in leafy Buckinghamshire before his family moved to Wales over 30 years ago. He studied at Swansea Institute of Art and Design for his illustration degree, and uses the traditional materials of pencil, ink, paper and paint to bring his characters to life and to make readers smile.
He lives not too far from the sea, working from his desk with a view of the garden. When he isn’t drawing he enjoys walking along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with his partner, and stopping for the occasional picnic.
