About The Author
Laura Jeffcote is a southerner living in Leicester. She is an Animation Designer and Illustrator, mainly for children’s content and has worked at Lupus Films and Mosaic Films for BBC Teach. At home, she looks after dysfunctional rescue cockatiels, has a lovely rangy son, and holidays with her husband in a caravan the size of an egg.
In 2023, with the animation industry in a downturn, Laura found herself without work. Undeterred, she took a picture book course. Thinking of her her family and tales from her imaginative childhood, she wrote and illustrated her first picture book.
Laura is inspired by lots of illustrators and animators, in particular Quentin Blake, Joanna Quinn and Oliver Jeffers.
