‘I’m Going To Have A Sister’ and ‘I’m Going To Have a Brother’ Releasing in 2025
Two picture books to help families and children with new babies.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tiny Tree Books is pleased to announce the acquisition of two titles from award-winning author Laura Diebelius. ‘I’m Going to Have a Sister’ and ‘I’m Going to Have a Brother’ are a pair of picture books that highlight the frustrations and fears of children eagerly anticipating the arrival of the newest member of the family.
Worldwide rights to the books were acquired by Tiny Tree publisher James Shaw. “As a dad to two children, Laura’s stories really rang true to me,” says James Shaw. “They’re not only great fun with lovely illustrations, they’re also incredibly helpful… I’m really pleased to add them to our slate for 2025”.
Laura Diebelius says: “It’s an honour to work with Tiny Tree and join their wonderful selection of children’s books. I’m delighted they believe in my books and can’t wait to see what the future holds!”
I’m Going to Have a Sister
Join Lottie as she eagerly awaits the arrival of her new sister, imagining all the fun they’ll have together. From swimming lessons to climbing trees, Lottie has grand plans. However, when her baby sister finally arrives, she seems more interested in naps than adventures and Lottie’s patience wears thin.
Will she ever get to play with her little sister?
I’m Going to Have a Brother
Benji can’t contain his excitement about becoming a big brother. He dreams of all the adventures they’ll have together, from building rockets to racing bikes. However, when the long-awaited day finally arrives, things take an unexpected turn.
Will little brother ever join in the fun?
Told in charming rhymes and with adorable illustrations, ‘I’m Going to Have a Sister’ and ‘I’m Going to Have a Brother’ sensitively explore the emotions of an older sibling adjusting to the presence of a new baby — something Laura had to do herself, having had two babies during the pandemic. The experience turned her passion for reading into a need to write. The result was ‘I’m Going to Have a Sister’ and ‘I’m Going to Have a Brother’. These two heartwarming tales remind readers that love, patience, and a little bit of waiting can lead to the sweetest surprises.
“The books were inspired by my children and they mean the world to me,” says Laura. “They were written at a difficult time and, seeing my eldest daughter’s frustration with her new ‘playmate’, I put pen to paper. ‘I’m Going to Have a Sister’ was the result.” Laura continues: “I’m so excited to reach new audiences and hope the books are not only a useful tool for new siblings and parents, but a funny and heartwarming read for all children and families.”
‘I’m Going to Have a Sister’ and ‘I’m Going to Have a Brother’ are set to be published by Tiny Tree in 2025. Laura Diebelius’ books join a host of new picture books from the likes of Susie Oh, Ffion Jones, Ashley Baxendale, and Andrew Walker to be published next year.
END.
